The senior staff of the International Food Policy Research Institute bring to the Institute an array of disciplines and experience in areas pertinent to food policy analysis. Currently, members of the staff come from some 20 countries, about half of which are developing countries. The diversity of background and training of IFPRI's research staff contributes to the definition of major food policy problems and provides a wide range of research methods and tools to analyze these problems and suggest solutions.
