The article “Effect of a Nutrition Intervention during Early Childhood on Economic Productivity in Guatemalan Adults” by senior research fellow John Hoddinott and his co-authors, received the 2009 CGIAR Science Award in the Outstanding Scientific Article category. The article, published in the Lancet journal, shows that feeding young children a caloric, micronutrient-enriched nutritional supplement leads to significant increases in wage rates for men as adults.
He accepted the award at the Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development.
