Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

Shenggen Fan, Director General of IFPRI, will introduce the recent report by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) on Global Food and Development Policy (2013 Global Food Policy Report) in Germany. The report analyzes key trends and events of global food and development policies of the past year. He will highlight new research results and findings, and examine key challenges and opportunities. Additionally Shenggen will discuss a program of action for the coming years.

The panel will provide their perspective on the orientation of the global development agenda, as well as their assessment of the trends in global food security.

Audience question and answer discussion will follow the presentations.
