India is currently the fastest growing major economy in the world. If that is to be sustained, its economic growth needs to be translated into the improved nutrition status of its infants, children and adults, which, in turn, will sustain economic growth towards 2030 and beyond. The rate of improvement in Indian nutrition status has increased substantially in recent years. This is to be celebrated. The question now is how this can be accelerated even further? What are the opportunities and how can they be seized? What are the barriers and how can they be overcome? These are the themes of this event. The presentation on the 2015 Global Nutrition Report will locate India’s experience in the wider context and the presentation on the India Health Report will analyse national and sub-national trends and identify success stories to learn from. The panel discussion will identify priorities and pathways towards good nutrition for all.
