Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

On March 22, 2018, the Global Report on Food Crises was launched at FAO headquarters, Rome. The Report draws attention to rising levels of food insecurity and malnutrition, particularly associated with conflict and the impact of extreme climate events.

IFPRI’s Director General, Shenggen Fan, gave video remarks at the event that included the participation of FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva, EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica, WFP Executive Director David Beasley, IGAD Executive Secretary Mahboob Maalim, CILSS Executive Secretary Djime Adoum, and the Charge d’Affaires for the US Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome Thomas Duffy.
