Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

Rural people around the world continue to struggle with food insecurity, persistent poverty and inequality, and environmental degradation. IFPRI’s 2019 Global Food Policy Report highlights the urgency of rural revitalization to address the crisis in rural areas.

This eighth annual report also provides perspective on the major food policy issues, developments, and decisions of 2018 and highlights challenges and opportunities for 2019.

The event screened the keynote addresses and four rapid-fire presentations from the March 27 global launch event followed by a live moderated panel discussion.
