Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Coinciding with the national nutrition month, this event is being jointly organized by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the National Institute of Nutrition, and NITI Aayog. It is also supported and co-hosted by Alive & Thrive (A&T), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), World Bank, and The India Nutrition Initiative (TINI).

This event will bring together a group of key nutrition stakeholders to review findings from ongoing or recently completed implementation research studies in nutrition, especially on POSHAN Abhiyaan’s key pillars. The participants will also deliberate on ways of tapping into insights from implementation research to help strengthen the coverage, equity and quality of maternal and child nutrition interventions in India.
