Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

In this January 2015 piece in The Guardian, IFPRI Senior Research Fellow Lawrence Haddad discusses how extreme poverty won’t be eradicated without the decline of global inequality levels. Haddad uses the book he co-edited, “Growth Is Dead, Long Live Growth: The Quality of Economic Growth and Why It Matters,” to demonstrate how reframing the idea of growth can benefit sustainable development.
