NPR published a report on the devastating after effects of disasters such as the recent hurricanes and floods on aspirations and economic choices of those affected, based on a recent IFPRI study co-authored by Senior Research Fellow Katrina Kosec. In the article, Kosec explained the effect was strongest on those who were the poorest and lacked any savings or a social network with resources to cushion the blow of the floods. The article ran in more than 80 news outlets.
