The Hill published an op-ed authored by Joseph Glauber on reforming the US crop insurance program, especially the harvest price option, to reduce burden on the country’s taxpayers. In the article, Glauber argued policymakers should reconsider wasteful farm subsidy programs that benefit producers who typically earn more than non-farm families. “If they desire the Cadillac coverage, they would likely find it available on the private market,” wrote Glauber.
