Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

Trade conflict is a lose-lose game (China Daily)

China Daily published an op-ed authored by IFPRI’s Director General Shenggen Fan on impact of trade war between the United States and China. In the article, Fan highlighted that the ongoing trade conflicts have the potential for disastrous outcomes for global agricultural trade. Bringing out the many positives of global trade, Fan wrote, “trade can contribute to improved health and nutrition by diversifying the supply of healthy food and lowering food prices.”
