The Nation Newspaper (Nigeria) reported that Nigerian farmers and agribusinesses could create a N200 billion food exports market by 2030, but the government must work with the private sector to create a seamless transportation infrastructure to support the nation’s growing agro-exports sector. IFPRI researchers stated that in Africa south of the Sahara, weak infrastructure, such as poor roads, has led to high transportation costs and longer transit times.
