Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

The Financial Express (India) featured an op-ed by Research Analyst Sunil Saroj, Senior Research Fellow Devesh Roy, and Mamata Pradhan of Cornell University on India’s Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman’s plans for the agriculture sector. Throughout history, it has been shown that incentives create the jumping-off point for change. The authors provide multiple examples of the importance of incentives for policies to succeed.
