Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

COVID-19’s Impact on China’s Small and Medium-sized Businesses (CGDev)

Center for Global Development published an op-ed by Senior Research Fellow Xiaobo Zhang. Zhang reported on the results of a recent survey showing COVID-19 has landed a heavy blow on Chinese SMEs, with huge differential effects across sectors and regions. Policies aimed at work resumption should consider the characteristics of each industry and avoid a one-size-fits-all approach.
