Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

ScienceNet (China Science Daily) reported on recent export restrictions many countries have in place. Are these restrictions necessary and is there enough food? In fact, food is enough. Markets, Trade, and Institutions Division Director Rob Vos has long tracked and monitored the global food market. He and several colleagues published the blogpost, COVID-19: Trade restrictions are worst possible response to safeguard food security, stating that there is no shortage of global staple food stocks and that the harvest is expected to be good this year.
