Liangzhi You

Liangzhi You is a Senior Research Fellow and theme leader in the Foresight and Policy Modeling Unit, based in Washington, DC. His research focuses on climate resilience, spatial data and analytics, agroecosystems, and agricultural science policy. Gridded crop production data of the world (SPAM) and the agricultural technology evaluation model (DREAM) are among his research contributions.

Expert: No food shortages in China, meat & soybean imports ‘worrying’ (CGTN)

CGTN (China) reported on the food supply in China. IFPRI’s Emeritus Fellow and former Director General, Shenggen Fan, was interviewed at length. He said, “For rice and wheat, [China] has probably one year of stock… My advice is ‘do not stockpile your food, and if you do that, you will do more harm to society and even to yourself.”
