Bangkok Post writes in an article that while it is too soon to assess the full impact of lockdowns and other virus-containment measures, the report estimates that between 83 million and 132 million more people may go hungry in 2020 as a result of the recession triggered by Covid-19. According to IFPRI and partners, addressing the impact of Covid-19 on hunger and nutrition would require an extra US$10 billion in government spending this year.
