Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

ReliefWeb published an article providing several key highlights from Malawi’s latest survey including IFPRI research that found In October 2020, the average price of maize per kg increased by 4.3 percent from MK180/kg in September 2020 to MK187.78. The average maize prices are lower than MK193/kg reported by the IFPRI for the month of October 2020. The southern region continues to record high maize prices per kg estimated at MK210.06 in October 2020, an increase of 3.6 percent from the month of September 2020.
