Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

Making healthier choices, eating affordable packaged rice (This Day Live)

This Day Live published an article stating that according to a report by IFPRI titled “The Nigerian rice economy: Policy options for transforming production, marketing, and trade” over the past few decades, rice has become one of the leading food staples in Nigeria. It stated that given the fact that a large amount of rice in Nigeria is now being consumed by low-income households, rice has become an important component for household food security.
