Land Degradation and Climate Change – November 8

The Center for Development Research, the United Nations University and the IUCN Friends of Ecosystem-based adaptation want to use this opportunity to organize an event titled,

“It’s Getting Hot in Here: Biodiversity and Ecosystems in Climate Change?

during the first week of the conference (November 6-11) at the Center for Development Research in Bonn. Climate Change is threatening many species and ecosystems, which are the basis of important ecosystem services. But at the same time ecosystems can help to mitigate and adapt to climate change impacts.

Each day, between Noon and 1:30 PM, we will discuss  a different interrelation between biodiversity, ecosystem services and climate change (biodiversity, ecosystem services, land degradation, ecosystem-based adaptation, protected areas).

The side event on climate change and land degradation will discuss on the biophysical and socio-economic interactions between climate change and land degradation, especially in the context of SDGs.
