Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

What we collect

We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any sensitive types of information. This does however include name of data requestor, email, geographic location (city and country), organization, and the reasons you are requesting access to restricted datafiles generated as part of the Africa RISING program. This information will be collected using “Harvard Dataverse Guestbook” and “Google Forms.” Please see Harvard Dataverse Privacy Policy  and Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for information on how Harvard Dataverse and Google handles these data. 

Why we collect it

We need to know your basic personal data to provide you with the information that you have asked to receive. According to the Africa RISING data management plan, datasets collected as part of a multiyear experiment shall not be made open access until the experiment comes to an end, and the sharing of such data with the public is at the discretion of the data owner.

How long we keep it

Your personal data will be kept with us until you request us to remove from our records.

What we do with it

Your personal data will be used to provide you the access to the restricted dataset that you have requested.

All personal data collected are processed by our staff in IFPRI’s Headquarters at 1201 Eye St. NW Washington, DC 20005 USA. For the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance, this information is located on servers provided by third-party data management services. Some of the servers that host your personal data may be located in countries (including the United States) that do not provide a level of data protection equivalent to that of your home country. We will take appropriate steps to make sure that our service providers act in accordance with applicable law.

Your personal data will not be sold to third parties, however this will be shared with the data owner; IFPRI Dataverse administrator; Africa RISING Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team; and project managers. You may be contacted for information about how the data was used for institutional impact assessment activities.

What your rights are

If at any point you believe the data for you that we process is incorrect, contact IFPRI-AfricaRising@cgiar.org; you can request to see this data, and have it corrected/deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, also contact IFPRI-AfricaRising@cgiar.org, who will forward the complaint to our data protection officer to investigate. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority in your home country.
