Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Soyra Gune

Research Analyst

Bio

Soyra Gune is a Research Analyst in the Nutrition, Diets, and Health Unit, based in IFPRI’s South Asia office in New Delhi. She joined in 2021 as part of POSHAN (Partnerships and Opportunities to Strengthen and Harmonize Action for Nutrition in India). As part of her work with POSHAN, she has worked on subnational case studies that examine factors behind successful reductions in undernutrition at the state and district levels. She is broadly interested in development economics with a particular focus on social safety net programs for women and children. Prior to joining IFPRI, Soyra completed her master’s degree in Economics from the University of Warwick and her bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) with a minor in Development and Sustainability from Azim Premji University.
