Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

World Bank Open Forum on Food Crisis

Rising food prices have driven 44 million people into extreme poverty in recent months. On April 14 and 15, the World Bank and IMF held an open forum to answer questions and debate solutions to overcoming the crisis and ensuring nutritious food for all. A panel of experts responded to comments submitted by more than 500 people from over 90 countries on how to put food first for the world’s 1 billion hungry people.
