Rob Vos, Director of Markets, Trade and Institutions at IFPRI will participate in a session of the Sustainable Food Systems Programme 2nd global conference –a multi-stakeholder partnership that aims to accelerate the shift towards sustainable consumption and production patterns in all areas related to food.
The conference theme – Good Food for People and the Planet: Working Together Towards 2030 – highlights the interactions between natural resources, livelihoods, and nutrition, and underscores the need for applying a systems lens. It also stresses the importance of sustainable food systems for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The conference will strengthen strategic multi-stakeholder partnerships with key actors; deliver actionable recommendations; stimulate higher levels of investment; and trigger increased political commitment for transition to sustainable food systems. Renowned thought leaders and practitioners from governments, donor organizations, private sector entities, civil society organizations, research institutions, farmer cooperatives, and other food system actors will participate upon invitation.
