Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

The 78th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics is going to be held November 1-3 under the auspices of the Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, International Food Policy Research Institute, Delhi, and Tata-Cornell Institute, Ithaca, USA. 

Three broad subjects will be discussed including: (a) Seven year plan for agriculture- output and biowaste management (b) Post-harvesting requirements for reducing the gap between what consumers pay and farmers receive and (c) Social and community organisations for agricultural development and coping with limited non-renewable resources.

Eminent agricultural economists, policy planners, government officials and civil society groups across India and abroad are expected to participate in the conference.
