Join us for an in-depth discussion on Avanzar2030, an evidence-based initiative that identifies promising innovations in agri-food systems and estimates the costs of implementing them. Launched in response to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit, this program is transforming the Ministers’ consensus into action by addressing climate change adaptation, creating decent livelihoods, improving diets, and safeguarding food security in Latin America and the Caribbean.

With experts from over 20 organizations, the initiative explores innovative policies, technologies, and institutions to build more productive, nutritious, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. It uses the latest technologies for evidence-syntheses and cost-modelling, building on the methodology introduced by Ceres2030 and advanced by Hesat2030. Through its collaboration with Hesat2030, Avanzar2030 contributes to the global discussion on food system transformation by sharing the evidence and innovations from the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Avanzar2030 initiative will also contribute directly to the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty proposed by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. This alliance, set to launch during the 2024 G20 Summit, aims to unite countries committed to eradicating hunger and poverty by mobilizing resources and expertise. Through Avanzar2030, key evidence on sustainable agri-food systems will be shared to support the alliance’s mission of addressing food security, resilience, and the climate crisis.

By working together, both initiatives seek to reverse setbacks on Sustainable Development Goals 1 (poverty eradication) and 2 (zero hunger), creating a more just and resilient global food system.

Join us to explore how Avanzar2030 can drive positive change in Latin America, the Caribbean, and beyond and support global efforts to eliminate hunger and poverty.
