Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

Brussels Development Briefing, organized by CTA in collaboration with the ACP Secretariat, the EC/DEVCO, Concord and IFPRI

Which are the key challenges posed to strengthen resilience in agriculture?

This Briefing will discuss the concept and approaches to resilience and highlight proven approaches and instruments around some key areas of special benefit to the small-scale farmers in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

Panelists will address approaches and instruments for building resilience in agriculture and examine proven successes and best practices to decrease vulnerability to these shocks.

The Briefing will be opened by special guest, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, Honorable Minister for Agriculture, Nigeria, and will feature a range of expert panelists including Thierry Kesteloot, Policy Advisor, Oxfam-Solidarité, Dominique Burgeon, FAO, Director of Emergency Operations and Rehabilitation Division, Girma Tesfahun, Researcher Socioeconomics Programme, CIMMYT, Zimbabwe, and Kingsley Kwenani, Kingsley Kwenani, Disaster Management Manager, Namibia Red Cross Society.

Le 4 mars 2013, nous organisons un Briefing sur le thème clé de la résilience agricole pour discuter des approches et instruments pour renforcer la résilience de l’agriculture ainsi que réussites avérées dans le renforcement de la résilience dans certains secteurs prioritaires pour les petits producteurs des pays d’Afrique, Caraïbes et Pacifique (ACP).
