Kate Ambler

Kate Amber is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit. Kate’s research broadly focuses on interventions that can increase incomes for smallholders and other microenterprises in agrifood value chains, with a specific focus on the inclusion of women. This includes work on programming in fragile settings, innovations in agricultural finance, and regulatory solutions for food safety.

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is launching its Egypt Strategy Support Program (SSP), on March 1, 2016 at the Conrad Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. The new program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will produce scientific evidence and build national capacity to raise incomes of the rural poor and improve food and nutrition security in Egypt. The objective of the event is to introduce IFPRI’s new program and to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders in Egypt. The event will unveil IFPRI’s new Egypt SSP and engage national policy makers, researchers, and development partners in its research and capacity-building activities.
