The 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from December 2 to 13, 2024.
IFPRI is pleased to participate in UNCCD COP16, where leaders from governments, the private sector, civil society, and global stakeholders will unite to accelerate progress in sustainable land management. COP16 is a critical moment for governments and non-state actors to slow and reverse land degradation. Action at the Riyadh COP is the only way to turn the tide on the loss of fertile land globally.
