Liangzhi You

Liangzhi You is a Senior Research Fellow and theme leader in the Foresight and Policy Modeling Unit, based in Washington, DC. His research focuses on climate resilience, spatial data and analytics, agroecosystems, and agricultural science policy. Gridded crop production data of the world (SPAM) and the agricultural technology evaluation model (DREAM) are among his research contributions.

Infrastructure in Africa is currently very limited in many countries and sectors. Though providing adequate levels of infrastructure can be a key catalyst in enhancing the growth and development of the continent, it is prohibitively expensive for many governments in the region. However, it would require comparatively modest global investment. This funding, combined with institutional and structural reforms, would help ensure that Africa’s potential is maximized. The seminar will address the measures needed to meet Africa’s infrastructure challenges.
