Trade and Nutrition – Exploring the Nexus
Organized by the World Trade Organization (WTO)

December 9, 2024

  • 10:00 – 7:00 pm (Europe/Amsterdam)
  • 4:00 – 1:00 pm (US/Eastern)
  • 2:30 – 11:30 pm (Asia/Kolkata)

The livestream will be available HERE on December 9, 2024 from 10:00am to 7:00pm (CET) / 4:00am to 1:00pm (EST).

This year’s Annual Agriculture Symposium aims to explore the critical intersections between global trade policies, food systems, and nutrition outcomes. In a world where international trade has the potential to both alleviate and exacerbate malnutrition, this Symposium will bring together policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for ensuring that trade can be leveraged to promote food security and healthy diets. It will examine how international trade affects access to affordable, nutritious foods, particularly in low-income countries, and how global supply chains can be adapted to meet the nutritional needs of a growing world population.
