Apart from COVID the Food Procurement Budget Needs Priority (Warta Ekonomi)

August 18, 2020

Warta Ekonomi published an article on Indonesia’s budget for food procurement. The government needs to have clear priorities for optimizing the use of the budget and needs to focus on improving food production. An IFPRI study, in collaboration with Bappenas and the Asian Development Bank (2019) assessed that spending on agricultural research and development will have multiple benefits. Meanwhile, spending on improving irrigation systems and fertilizer subsidies is less cost-effective. (Reach 142K). Republished in Suaramerdeka and Skanaa.
