Kate Ambler

Kate Amber is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit. Kate’s research broadly focuses on interventions that can increase incomes for smallholders and other microenterprises in agrifood value chains, with a specific focus on the inclusion of women. This includes work on programming in fragile settings, innovations in agricultural finance, and regulatory solutions for food safety.

Brazilians Defend Ag Policies (AgFax)

AgFax (USA) reported on a recent meeting of agribusiness groups. In the meeting, Deputy Division Director of the Environment and Production Technology Division Claudia Ringler discussed the ongoing Amazon fires and climate change. She stated, “That’s where no one is really fully prepared for what climate change brings. The Amazon is a big fuel source and we have to do a lot more thinking about how we can manage our reserves and forest resources.”
