End Russia-Ukraine war now (Daily Trust)

July 07, 2022

Daily Trust published an article stating that Ukraine and Russia are not the only countries reeling under the effects of the heavy damage and multiple sanctions; the rest of the world, from America, Europe, to Asia and Africa, are feeling the impacts of war on food and fuel is enormous due to the significant role the Ukraine and Russia play in the production and supply of crude oil, natural gas, wheat, maize, fertilizer, sunflower oil, and dozens of other products to the rest of the world. For instance, IFPRI data shows that in the pre-war era, Russia exported 6.5 million barrels of crude oil every day to Europe and other parts of the world. It accounted for 17 percent of global natural gas production; Russia and Ukraine accounted for 29 percent of global wheat exports. They also account for 75 percent of sunflower exports, and 15 percent of fertilizer exports. Food and fuel lubricate the world, therefore, this disruption, coming after COVID-19 pandemic, is a source of enormous human suffering across the globe today.
