Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Fish farming pulls 20 lakh out of poverty: Study (The Daily Star)

Daily Star (Bangladesh) reported on an IFPRI study and book, “The Making of the ‘Blue Revolution’ in Bangladesh” that more than 20 lakh of the 1.80 crore Bangladeshis who escaped poverty between 2000 and 2010 managed to do so because of aquaculture, raising the need for the government to give this area of agriculture special focus.
