Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

How farmers can use smartphones to make crop loss assessment (The Indian Express)

The Indian Express published a feature on IFPRI’s new research on picture-based crop insurance (PBI) to help Indian farmers assess crop losses in a cost effective way. The article compared PBI to existing forms of insurance and interviewed IFPRI researcher Berber Kramer, who explained the comparative advantages of PBI.
