With research staff from more than 60 countries, and offices across the globe, IFPRI provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries.

Manuel Hernandez

Manuel Hernandez is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit of IFPRI. He has more than 20 years of experience in diverse projects in Latin America, Africa, and Asia on development issues related to agricultural and labor markets, food security and nutrition, industrial organization and regulation, price analysis, and the informal economy. His current research focuses on impact evaluation linked to rural development and food security projects, migration, functioning of oligopoly markets and value chains, and price volatility.

IFPRI Washington Headquarters is Moving

April 20, 2017


On April 21, 2017, IFPRI will begin the first phase of our relocation to 1201 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20005. Approximately 40% of IFPRI will move during this first phase, and the remainder will move in April 2018.
 
This is an exciting change for the institute, providing an opportunity to consolidate and improve IFPRI’s facilities, while saving on the long-term cost of office space. The move will also bring all headquarters staff into the same building, allowing for greater collaboration in our work towards a world free of hunger and malnutrition.
 
Our new conference space will be operational as of June 1, 2017, and will feature enhanced functionality that will expand our ability to engage stakeholders globally and facilitate greater research interaction, both on-site and virtually. We look forward to hosting you in this new space with events and seminars that will stimulate discussion and provide research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and improve global nutrition and food security.
