Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

Maize Export Ban Costs Malawi k69 billion (The Nation)

Malawi’s The Nation published a front page report on the potential loss of revenue on account of maize export ban in the country. The report, quoting from a latest IFPRI study, estimated local traders lost nearly Malawian Kwacha 69 billion (~ USD 95 million) during August and September due to the maize export ban to countries.
