Maize price still elevated (Malawi Times)

October 12, 2021

Malawi Times published an article on the status of maize prices in October. The price for Malawi’s staple crop, maize, went up for the fifth month in a roll in September, averaging K200 per kilogramme (kg) in the country’s major cities. An IFPRI report shows that, in September alone, maize retail prices increased by 5 percent. However, the prices decreased in four sampled markets and remained stable in 11 markets.
