Liangzhi You

Liangzhi You is a Senior Research Fellow and theme leader in the Foresight and Policy Modeling Unit, based in Washington, DC. His research focuses on climate resilience, spatial data and analytics, agroecosystems, and agricultural science policy. Gridded crop production data of the world (SPAM) and the agricultural technology evaluation model (DREAM) are among his research contributions.

Nigeria is recording success with genetically modified cowpea-Gidado (Von.Gov)

Von.gov (Nigeria) published an article stating that it’s been over a year since Nigeria released the world’s first genetically modified cowpea – also known as the black-eyed pea – and the legume’s most vocal supporter is thrilled with the results. According to a study by PBS and IFPRI under the Biosafety and Biotechnology Rapid Assessment and Policy Project (BioRAPP), cowpea exports could fetch Nigeria 638 million US dollars yearly.
