Saturday Morning Garden Blogging Vol. 18.32 – Food Security, part 1 of 4: Production (Daily Kos)

August 06, 2022

Daily Kos published a blog post on food security. The article writes food security is a topic that has received increasing coverage in the media and increasing interest among the public over the last decade or so. While each of us has an opinion on what food security is, there have been some attempts to define it in a way that can be studied and that can ensure that we are all talking about more or less the same thing. Generally, it is defined as a situation in which, according to IFPRI, “… all people, at all times, have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for an active and healthy life.”
