November 15, Washington, D.C.: I have informed IFPRI staff and supporters that my second, five-year term as Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) will conclude in one year, December 2019. Upon completing my tenure, I will return to China and continue my life’s work to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and poverty around the world.
The IFPRI Board of Trustees, chaired by Mari Pangestu, has established a search committee and launched the process to find my successor. The position announcement will be forthcoming next month.
Please rest assured that during my last year at IFPRI, I will remain focused on supporting the Institute’s strong and rigorous food policy research, capacity building, and communications activities. My colleagues and I at IFPRI look forward to working with our many partners on our mutual quest to reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition.
