Liangzhi You

Liangzhi You is a Senior Research Fellow and theme leader in the Foresight and Policy Modeling Unit, based in Washington, DC. His research focuses on climate resilience, spatial data and analytics, agroecosystems, and agricultural science policy. Gridded crop production data of the world (SPAM) and the agricultural technology evaluation model (DREAM) are among his research contributions.

Together, we will transform green, clean and sustainable agriculture (Nong Nghiep)

Nong Nghiep published an article stating that during the visit to the United States by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with two international organizations: IFPRI and WWF. Vietnam has always attached great importance to national agricultural and food policies to promote innovation in agricultural technology, develop sustainable solutions for poverty alleviation, green agriculture/low carbon agriculture, and resistant to climate change. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is coordinating with an expert group of the Alliance of International Agricultural Research Institutes (One CGIAR), of which IFPRI is an important member, to develop a draft “National Action Plan”. Transforming a transparent, responsible and sustainable food system in Vietnam, period 2021-2030”. Division director Paul Dorosh (Development and Strategy Governance Division), congratulated Viet Nam’s agricultural achievements and affirmed the programs and projects. implemented in Vietnam to ensure the principle of balance between production and consumption, promote healthy nutrition for people, and research to incorporate nutrients into each meal. For the transformation of food-food security, consumers themselves must have knowledge about nutrition, so it is necessary to improve the capacity of policymakers. On the basis of the information introduced by IFPRI, Minister Le Minh Hoan proposed that IFPRI research and support Vietnam in the implementation of the Strategy to develop agriculture, especially in support of the Mekong Delta region. there are many transformation models suitable for green – clean agriculture that is adaptive to climate change.
