Kate Ambler

Kate Amber is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit. Kate’s research broadly focuses on interventions that can increase incomes for smallholders and other microenterprises in agrifood value chains, with a specific focus on the inclusion of women. This includes work on programming in fragile settings, innovations in agricultural finance, and regulatory solutions for food safety.

USAID to strengthen research and policy processes in agriculture sector (This Daily Live)

This Daily Live published an article announcing that USAID has expressed commitment towards supporting policy processes through scientific research to enhance skills and mentoring through training and institutional capacity development in Nigeria.  The Nigerian government is committed to providing an enabling environment for Agriculture to thrive through the provision of solar dryers, agro-processing equipment, and inputs such as fertilizer, seedlings, and agro-chemicals with a view to achieving food security in the country for self-sustainability. The Principal Investigator of the project identified key members of the research team from different institutions to including IFPRI.
