Kate Ambler

Kate Amber is a Senior Research Fellow in the Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit. Kate’s research broadly focuses on interventions that can increase incomes for smallholders and other microenterprises in agrifood value chains, with a specific focus on the inclusion of women. This includes work on programming in fragile settings, innovations in agricultural finance, and regulatory solutions for food safety.

Yes, This Smog Can Affect Your Mental Health too: IFPRI Study (The Indian Express)

The Indian Express published an article based on a latest IFPRI research, “Happiness in the Air: How Does a Dirty Sky Affect Mental Health and Subjective Well-being”, co-authored by IFPRI-Beijing’s Xiaobo Zhang. Referring to the growing air pollution in Indian cities, the article quoted Zhang who provided his analysis on link between air pollution and happiness. Zhang explained that exposure to air pollution over time reduces hedonic happiness and increases the rate of depressive symptoms.
