Agnes Quisumbing

Agnes Quisumbing is a Senior Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. She co-leads a research program that examines how closing the gap between men’s and women’s ownership and control of assets may lead to better development outcomes.

The mission of the Ministry of Agriculture are Agricultural production and food self-sufficiency; Planning of national production targets in the fields of agriculture and agroforestry; Promotion and supervision of Agricultural Associations and Cooperatives; Design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of agricultural development programs and projects; Promotion of agricultural products for domestic food, domestic industry and export; Phytosanitary surveillance and management of plant quarantine in the interior of the country and at border crossings and permanent updating of the relevant regulatory measures; Orientation and support of economic operators interested in investing in agricultural sectors towards sites with high production potential, so as to minimize operating costs; Collection, analysis and publication of agricultural statistics in the form of a directory.
