Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

Mir Raihanul Islam is a Research Analyst in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit who joined IFPRI in 2021 under the USAID-funded Bangladesh Agriculture Policy Activity program. His research interests are related to public health, food security, resilience, and WASH (water, sanitation, and health).

Before joining IFPRI, he worked as a senior research associate at the James P. Grant School of Public Health (JPGSPH) at BRAC University. During his time at BRAC University, he also worked as a teaching fellow in the Master of Public Health program. Before joining BRAC JPGSPH, he worked as a research associate in BRAC’s Research and Evaluation Division (RED). Mir works to implement mental health services in Bangladesh and is one of the founders of the Dr. Anisur Rahman Clinical Psychology Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ARC). He has also published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals.

Mir received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied statistics from the Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka.
