Kalyani Raghunathan

Kalyani Raghunathan is Research Fellow in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit, based in New Delhi, India. Her research lies at the intersection of agriculture, gender, social protection, and public health and nutrition, with a specific focus on South Asia and Africa.

Impacts of Global Shocks on Poverty, Hunger, and Diets

Xinshen Diao and James Thurlow will present IFPRI analysis examining the impact of recent and potential global shocks on poverty, hunger, and diets across 17 countries. These shocks include the COVID-19 pandemic, high global commodity prices, and a potential global economic slowdown in 2023.

The webinar will include an overview of the analyses completed to date as well as a moderated discussion on the implications for the USAID response.
