Reuters published an op-ed authored by Shenggen Fan, Director General at IFPRI, in which he assesses the costs and benefits of ending hunger and malnutrition. According to Fan, some investments fall between US $7- $276 billion dollars per annum. However, he stressed that “ending hunger and malnutrition is a moral imperative,” and its potential economic and social benefits far outweigh the costs. “By boosting investments, we can better strive to end hunger and malnutrition and achieve many of the interconnected SDGs,” he said.
