Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Md. Aminul Islam Khandaker is a Senior Database Manager in the Poverty, Gender, and Inclusion Unit. He joined IFPRI in 1991 and has contributed to IFPRI’s work in Bangladesh under the Bangladesh Food Policy Project and the Bangladesh Policy Research and Strategy Support Program (PRSSP). Amin leads database management for all secondary data related to agriculture, food, education, health, rural development, and environment, and contributes to data analysis. Amin also supervises field surveys throughout rural Bangladesh. Before joining IFPRI, he worked with the World Bank, Data Analysis and Technical Assistance, Plan International, Chemonics International, and Sheladia Associates. He received his master’s degree in Political Science from Dhaka University.
